Designing the annual report for Zaans Museum meant reinterpreting the style guide. We found a new visual tone that connected the rich collection of the museum with its accessibility.
Step one was designing a new pattern of the colourful icons, that needed a more serious and stylish approach in the communication with the museums sponsors. This pattern was laid over a subtle set of semi-transparant vertical bars, all atop the magnificent illustrations from the Verkade albums.
The content then was placed in a one and two column grid with clear rules for text and pictures in the right balance.
